SDS was engaged to complete a leak investigation and to design and oversee exterior facade repairs to address unsafe conditions outlined in the Cycle 8 Facade Inspection Safety Program (FISP) report and ongoing water infiltration. The project has consisted of rebuilding and waterproofing of three of the building’s corners, include repair and replacement of cracked and spalled terra cotta units, repair of cracked and spalled limestone units, steel lintel refurbishment, replacement of stone sills, brick masonry replacement repointing of mortar joints in brick masonry and stone masonry, and sealant replacement. To address ongoing leaks, the main roof and the penthouse roof were also fully replaced. SDS served as the Architect of Record and Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) for the project.
